First LGBT+ Exploratory Walk at La Plaine – Stade de France Station, with Transilien

This evening, in partnership with Transilien SNCF Voyageurs, we organised an LGBT+ exploratory walk at La Plaine – Stade de France station. Île-de-France Mobilités, Transilien’s transport authority (AOM), was also present.

The principle is simple: walk through the different areas of the station together and gather participants’ remarks on how they feel there. The approach starts from the experience of the people concerned to bring out concrete ideas. It is the same logic as the one we presented for the exploratory walk in Aulnay-sous-Bois, organised with Transilien in May.

This fieldwork extends our commitment in Île-de-France’s transport networks. These networks are public spaces handling more than 9 million journeys every day, and everyone should be able to travel without fear of discrimination or violence. Île-de-France Mobilités, the Region, RATP and SNCF said so together in May, citing Gare!’s work. We also continue our awareness actions directly in stations, as on 17 May in Paris stations.

A big thank you to Transilien SNCF Voyageurs and the RER B line management for this partnership, which helps make our journeys ever safer.
