Ground Control Afterwork 🍻

On December 18, 2025, we had the great pleasure of coming together at Ground Control for a convivial and inspiring moment, complementing the Woopiii gatherings held at Freedj. More than twenty participants joined us, making this evening a highlight filled with laughter, meaningful exchanges, and shared moments.

Throughout the evening, conversations were rich and spontaneous. Backgrounds, generations, and ideas intersected in a welcoming and open atmosphere, allowing everyone to express themselves freely and collectively imagine new perspectives for the year ahead. It was truly a joy to witness shared reflections emerge, nourished by diverse experiences and a collective desire to build together.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your presence, energy, and good spirits. These moments remind us how essential human connections are for creating bonds and bringing meaningful projects to life. We are already looking forward to organizing similar gatherings again next year.

Ground Control: A Place Steeped in History and Transmission

If this evening felt especially meaningful, it was also thanks to the venue that hosted it. Ground Control is much more than a simple event space—it is an iconic venue within Paris’s contemporary cultural scene.

Originally, Ground Control was established in former railway spaces, notably connected to the SNCF, before settling permanently in Paris’s 12th arrondissement, near Gare de Lyon. The transformation of these buildings, deeply rooted in France’s industrial and railway history, perfectly illustrates the venue’s ability to create a dialogue between past and present.

Since its creation, Ground Control has positioned itself as a cultural, social, and civic laboratory. It hosts exhibitions, talks, concerts, workshops, as well as food and relaxation areas. The venue has always aimed to bring together diverse audiences from different generations and backgrounds.

This vision makes it an ideal setting for intergenerational gatherings like the one held on December 18. The walls of Ground Control, shaped by the history of transportation and transformed into creative spaces, remind us that ideas circulate, are passed on, and continually reinvented over time.
