World AIDS Day & Diversity Forum at the Strasbourg Traction Depot 🚆🏳️‍🌈

On December 1st, World AIDS Day, our association was present at the Strasbourg Traction Depot to participate in a Diversity Forum, a meaningful moment of exchange and awareness around inclusion and diversity in the professional environment.

World AIDS Day is observed every year on 1 December—first established in 1988—to unite people around the world in support of those living with HIV, to remember those who have died of AIDS-related illnesses, and to raise awareness about the ongoing global HIV epidemic.

Despite decades of progress in treatment, prevention, and care, HIV remains a significant public health issue. According to the latest global figures:

  • An estimated 40.8 million people worldwide were living with HIV in 2024.

  • Approximately 1.3 million people acquired HIV in 2024.

  • Around 630,000 people died from HIV-related causes in 2024.

These numbers highlight both the advances made and the persistent challenges we face in reducing new infections, expanding access to care, and combating stigma and discrimination.

The red ribbon, a global symbol of solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS, remains a powerful reminder of the importance of education, compassion, and collective action on this day.

Our participation in the Strasbourg Forum reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion and respect for diversity in all its forms—whether related to sexual orientation, gender identity, health status, or background. Together, let’s continue to promote awareness, support, and understanding so that no one faces stigma or discrimination alone.
