Trainbow Europe 2026 in Zurich: Two Days to Set the Course for the Year Ahead
On Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September, we met in Zurich for a new stage in the Trainbow Europe adventure. A huge thank you to SBB CFF FFS for the warm welcome and for an event organised with remarkable punctuality.
These two days were rich, thanks to the quality of the discussions, the debates and the sharing of experiences between European associations. We made progress on three topics that are essential for the future of Trainbow Europe:
- our purpose and shared ambition;
- the drafting of our manifesto;
- the professionalisation of the association and how it operates.
Good steps were taken, and clear priorities were set for the year ahead. These are concrete perspectives to keep growing the association and strengthen our collective action at European level.
For Gare!, this work is part of an approach we pursue all year round: comparing our experience with that of other networks. We did so by sharing our experience with Renault Group’s LGBT+ network, by working with the SNCF Voyages Italie teams in Milan, and by joining our friends from Trainbow Belgium at their spaghetti party at Antwerp Central station. Realities differ from one company and country to another, and comparing them is how we become more effective.
Thanks again to the organisers, Rosanne Wijgman, Valdron Callaki and Sabine Lehner, and to everyone who helped make these two days such a constructive and unifying moment. We look forward to continuing this momentum together.
